Wallabies win 1st match in World Cup – reports Campbell Hanson who is Team Physiotherapist

Last night The Australian Junior Wallabies kicked off their campaign at the IRB Junior World Championships in winning style easily beating Scotland 67-12 in fast and dry conditions at The University of Western Cape. It was a good early competition blow out against what will likely be the weakest team in our pool, and an improvement on our performance against Samoa ten days ago in Sydney. Thankfully we came through with no serious injuries and will more than likely have a full squad of 28 players eligible for selection for our next game on Friday against Argentina. With only three days turnaround between pool games it is definitely an advantage for teams not to suffer any injuries early in this tournament. Argentina will offer a much tougher challenge than the Scots after they upset the French 18-15 last night. Other upsets included the host nation South Africa going down to a spirited Irish outfit 23-19. Look out for our match against Argentina on Fox Sports at 10.45 Friday night Sydney time.
